JOHANNESBURG - As the country continues to
mourn the passing of radio and television
personality Vuyo Mbuli the presidency, political
parties and the broadcasting community have
described him as a versatile media personality, a
patriot and a true believer in the ideals of South
Africa.
His co presenter Leanne Manas took to her
Twitter page on Sunday afternoon and described
how devastated she was after learning of his
death.
She said her and Mbuli created magic together
for two hours every morning for nine years.
The 47-year-old collapsed while watching a rugby
match in at the Free State Stadium in
Bloemfontein on Saturday shortly after posting an
update on Twitter on the rugby match between
the Cheetahs and the Reds.
While the cause of his death hasn't been
confirmed yet it's believed he may have suffered
a heart attack.
The South African Broadcasting Corporation
(SABC)’s Kaizer Kganyago said, “He was a
passionate man who loved his job. He really is
someone we will miss a lot.”
Kganyago said he remembered Mbuli as a
colleague who was loyal to his job and the South
African public through his work.
Meanwhile, the South African National Editors
Forum (Sanef) said they will always remember
Mbuli as a hardworking, dedicated person with an
ability to keep calm under pressure.
Sanef’s Makhudu Sefara said Mbuli’s passing will
leave a big void in the journalism industry.
“He has been a very good ambassador for both
radio and television journalism and journalism
will be poorer without him.”
Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane said the
passing of television and radio personality Vuyo
Mbuli will leave a big hole in the hearts of many
South African's.
