Sunderland winger Adam Johnson has been ruled out of England's next two World Cup qualifying matches due to injury.

Johnson has a minor thigh problem and will play no part against Moldova on Friday or Ukraine the following Tuesday. He has returned to Sunderland in order to undergo treatment.
After being named in the squad, Johnson had expressed hope that his exposure to first-team football at Sunderland would boost his chances of breaking into the England team.
He was omitted from Roy Hodgson's squad at Euro 2012 after playing a bit-part role for Manchester City towards the end of last season. He subsequently moved to the Stadium of Light for a reported fee of £10 million.
He played the full 90 minutes of England's 2-1 victory over Italy in a friendly during August, operating from the right-wing and frequently cutting inside onto his favoured left foot.
Johnson, 25, has 12 caps for England and has found the back of the net on two occasions.
