DJ KABILA SHINES BEYOND LIMITS

DJ Kabila Shines Beyond Limits
Soulistic Music’s Dj Kabila real name Siyanda Makanya (35) is a South African deejay hopping between Durban and Pretoria with his roots in the dusty township of Mthatha. His love for the deejay box dates back to the late 1990s. He has an undisputed gift of keeping a capacious, jam-packed dance floor on its’ feet the entire night.
Prior to a car accident that left him wheelchair bound in September 1999, DJ Kabila was famous for not only being the music genius behind the decks but also a phenomenal dancer, dance floors have been deprived of an incredible dancer. This is evident in the manner in which he still dances on his wheelchair. That being the only flaw that resulted from his accident, the ever- radiant and witty Kabila’s love for music remained and still remains unmatched. It was exactly two months after his accident that he started exploring his talent with beats. His traction in rising above this life-changing ordeal is remarkable.
Kabila made the move from the busy Gauteng to the Royal KwaZulu Natal where without hesitation immediately won over party lovers in and around the province. He has played at international festivals and alongside some of the best international house acts like the renowned Jean Paul from London.
2006 is the year that saw The General as he is affectionately called by his peers, join Soulistic Music. Being signed to Soulisitc has been an incredible platform for this young man with no limits.  This opportunity brought about the inception of his career as a music artist. Kabila is not defined by his disability, he believes he is as good if not even better than he was before his accident. Entertaining crowds is what drives him.
Apart from establishing his company, Music Soldier Entertainment in 2007, Kabila also founded the Dj Kabila Foundation aimed at developing the physically disabled schools and subsequently identified a beneficiary – The Mason Lincolin Special School in Emalandeni – V Section, Umlazi Township in Durban.  On the 24th June 2007, his birthday, he performed as a fund raiser in support of the Foundation and proceeds thereof were presented to the Mason Lincoln Special School as intended.
Kabila released his very first album titled “Believe” with hit track “Amantombazana” which coincidentally is his favorite track in the album. His album was well received and saw him perform in various spots around the country.
In 2011 he dropped the well received  Soulistic Cuts Volume 1 compilation album  which sold five thousand copies in the first week of its release.
The album features the great Black Coffee, Mxo Sandimbine and American vocalist Marissa Guzzman’s –Time To Go which had been nominated at the South African Music Awards under the category of best remixed tracks.”The impossible is merely the untried”…..

This June 2013 Kabila is celebrating his birthday in a massive way and he will be in East London on the 28, Durban on the 29th and Pietermaritzburg on the 30th accompanied by some of the great entertainers in the house music scene. His stable mate and mentee Culoe De Song, Tira, DJ Ganyani, DJ Andy X are also expected to make an appearance.
