Jessica Chastain has taken to Facebook to share good news to her fans. The Maya depicter in 2012's "Zero Dark Thirty" reveals that her very first film "Wilde Salome", in which she co-starred alongside "The Godfather" star Al Pacino, will finally be released in theaters across the nation.
"I've been talking with Al and I'm hearing that our film ['Wilde Salome'] is to be released this year," Chastain writes on the site, before continuing, "It's an exciting prospect, but I don't want to spill all the beans so I'll wait till it's officially announced. Can you believe it? It's the first film I ever made."
Debuted at the 68th Venice International Film Festival in 2011, "Wilde Salome" was an exploration of Oscar Wilde's tragedy play "Salome". Al Pacino not only acted as King Herod but also directed and wrote the screenplay. Featuring Chastain as Salome, the Barry Navidi-produced feature was also supported by Kevin Anderson and Roxanne Hart.
Despite no official statement yet, IMDB has written down an October 16 release for the film, which won Venice's Queer Lion Award.
Chastain is currently filming "Miss Julie", a Liv Ullmann-directed film which also stars Colin Farrell. The 36-year-old beauty is recently linked to "Rodham", which reportedly includes her name in the mix of contenders to play 26-year-old Hillary Clinton. Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon and Amanda Seyfried are named her rivals for the coveted role.
