Follow Sportsmail's coverage of the FA Cup
final as Manchester City and Wigan battle at
Wembley Stadium to try and win the world's
oldest cup competition. Roberto Mancini's
team missed out on retaining the Premier
League title but can win back the cup they won
as recently as 2011 when they defeated Stoke
1-0 in the final. The Latics feature in the
competition's final for the first time in their
history and will hope the chance of winning
major silverware will help lift the gloom
around the club who are in a fight against
relegation from the top flight.
4.40pm: Right, rant over... I'm sure you've
been following Nick Metcalfe's excellent build-
up, but if you haven't already seen them, here
are today's teams:
Manchester City : Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany,
Nastasic, Clichy, Silva, Toure, Barry, Nasri,
Aguero Tevez.
Wigan: Joel; Espinoza, Scharner, Alcarez,
Boyce; McCarthy, McArthur, Gomez;
McManaman, Kone, Maloney.
4.35pm: Before we go any further, I've got to
get this out of my system. What on earth are
the FA playing at holding the FA Cup final at
5.15pm when the season still has weeks left to
run? The FA Cup is about nothing if not
tradition - it's not just any old cup
competition, it's THE cup competition - so let's
keep it that way!
4.30pm : Good afternoon one and all! The
season may still be in (not quite) full swing but
it's FA Cup Final day! Is there a finer day in
English football? Don't be silly...
