'iCarly' Stars Tweet Gratitude to Fans as Series Finale Airs


After five years and six seasons, "iCarly" pulled down the curtain for the last time on Friday, November 23. As viewers bid farewell to their beloved show and characters, the stars of the teen show took to Twitter to thank fans for their support all this time.

"I want to thank you guys for all your support. You've been the most amazing fans ever," Miranda Cosgrove tweeted while promoting the last episode which aired starting at 8 o'clock that night. The title character depicter wrote in another post, "#iGoodbye Thanks for the worldwide trend! :)," after fans flooded Twitterverse with their posts about the series finale.

Jennette McCurdy wrote on her own Twitter page, "Thanks to everyone who has made #icarly the wonderful thing it is. #igoodbye." Nathan Kress also expressed his gratitude to the show's loyal fans, tweeting, "I just freakin love you guys... thank you for the trends, encouragement, and support."

The actor playing Carly's friend Freddie Benson additionally revealed that Cosgrove, McCurdy as well as Noah Munck were going to gather at his house to watch the final episode. On his way to Kress' home, Munck apparently encountered a problem with his car as he tweeted, "Dang, just had a tire blowout on my car! Hoping to still make it to @NathanKress's house for #igoodbye ... Wait for me guys."

"iCarly" ended its run with a one-hour episode titled "iGoodbye". Some of the stars, including McCurdy, Munck and Jerry Trainor will still grace Nickelodeon as the network has greenlit the show's spin-offs.
