The stars will come out to pay tribute to the
music icon during his funeral in Nashville
which is said to be a star-studded one.

May 2 at
the Grand
Ole Opry
House in
Nashville and celebrities from the world of
politics and music are both coming together to
honor him before he is finally laid to rest. The
81-year-old country music singer passed away
last April 26 at Vanderbilt University Medical
Center due to complications arising from fever
and irregular blood pressure.
Kid Rock , Brad Paisley , Wynonna Judd, Randy
Travis and Alan Jackson will all sing in the
loving tribute to Jones. Former first lady Laura
Bush, Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and singer
Kenny Chesney are set to make the special
remarks in the remembrance ceremony.
"Country music lost a legend today. George
Jones is one of the greatest of all time. Rest in
peace my friend," Rock tweeted shortly after
Jones died. Paisley, also via Twitter, posted a
moving message for the legendary musician,
writing about how Jones tried to use his life
and his God-given talent to make the world a
better place.
In the days following his death, Jones' albums
collectively logged a thousand percent increase
in sales. His 1998 album "16 Biggest Hits" sold
9,000 copies and his 1987 compilation "Super
Hits" moved another 7,000 copies while his
albums "The Essential George Jones" and "Hits I
Missed...And One I Didn't " added another
5,000 and 3,000, respectively.
