Dancing With The Stars Elimination: Departing Celeb Calls It A 'Wonderful Ride'

One contestant bid an emotional farewell to
the ballroom on "Dancing with the Stars" on
Tuesday evening.
( SPOILER ALERT! This story contains the
results of Tuesday's elimination show.)
After seven weeks of competition, comedian
Andy Dick was finally eliminated along with
first-time pro Sharna Burgess. Sean Lowe and
Peta Murgatroyd, who had also been in the
Bottom 2, will continue on in the competition.

He wasn't the best dancer, technically
speaking, but Andy brought a sense of
showmanship to the Season 16 competition,
filling his performances with a fun flare that
delighted the judges week after week, even if
his scores didn't reflect their joy.
"It's been the best," Andy said, choking back
tears, after learning he was going home. "It's
just been the best."

Comments On 'Dancing With The Stars'
Ever the humorist, Andy blamed his
elimination on Carrie Ann Inaba's low score
from Monday night.
"Carrie Ann -- I'm gonna kill you for that 5, it
was all your fault," he said as the ballroom
laughed. "But you know what? The fact that
we're here on Week 7 is amazing. ... It's been
the best thing and I really thank everybody
here... the fans out there. ... It's been a
wonderful, wonderful ride."
Sharna, who appeared to have developed a
bond with Andy over their time together,
thanked him too for making her first turn as a
pro on the show so memorable.
"It's been amazing and I couldn't have had a
more incredible first season as pro with Andy,"
she said. "He's given me such a special
experience that I'll remember forever."

Of 'Dancing With The Stars'
Beyond the elimination news, show co-hosts
Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet
revealed that Adrianne Haslet-Davis, the
dancer who lost her left foot in the Boston
Marathon bombings, has been invited -- when
she is ready -- to perform on the show. A
lifelong dancer, Tom said the "DWTS" want to
help her craft a special routine to one day
perform on the show.
